My Nano… my precious nano

At last I got my iPod- Nano Black 4GB. It was on my wishlist for a quiet long time. I was contemplating on a iPod 30 GB Photo, then considering its size, moved to 1GB Shuffle. Needless to say, when the Nano was released, I pounced on it immediately. I have even got my name engraved on it. I like to have my name on my possessions, it gives a sense of personalization.

Took me no time to familiarize with the interface. The funny thing is that I could figure out how-to do almost everything without referring to the manual, except switching it off. (Have to hold down the play/pause button.) Incidentally, I faced the same issue when I worked on an iMac for the first time. Later I found that I need to just press the power button; I am still wondering was I stupid or it is the case with everyone.

There is no need for another Nano review, there are plenty out there already. But I will list a few of my complaints:

  1. What really put me off was the absence of Indian standard time on the time zone list; for that matter it lacks many other timezones. I don’t understand why Apple couldn’t cover all the timezones.
  2. Ofcourse the scratches, the surface looks as if it was built to get scratched.
  3. And please… don’t tell me that iPod comes with games, I hate the built in games.

Phew…blogging takes effort

Like most of the habits I wanted to inculcate, blogging started with a reactive decision and shortly came to a stand-still. I have read and admired a lot of blogs since my last post. I don’t think anyone has ever read any of my posts till date. And I see no reason why someone should do it.

Henceforth I shall try to add a personal touch to all the posts instead of acting like tech news aggregator. Whenever I explain about technology to my friends, they seem to interested in it (or may be not) and appreciate the information. I will try to draft my subsequent posts on those lines.
